Dear Fellow Rotarians,
On Friday I am going to give you three copies of a letter that talks about Hogar del Nino, the school in the Dominican Republic that our club is supporting and the need the students at this remarkable school have. I am going to ask you to take the letters, sign them, and mail them to a few friends, relatives or associates. There will be a self addressed return envelope, so your friends can easily send a check. (If you really want to impress us and make us think you have a lot of friends, you can take four or five letters.) You don't have to be embarrassed at sending these letters to anyone, they ask for only twenty five or fifty dollars. You will be asking for so little, and the pictures will show the need is so great.
If you would like to print your own letter and send it to many folks, we're going to make that easy too. John Ebert is going to help construct a letter that can be e-mailed to you and you can print as many as you want. I'm also going to send you an e-mail that you can forward to your e-mail friends. In the true Rotary spirit, I'm pulling out all the stops to raise money for this incredible school.
To prove how easy raising money by e-mailing is, please consider this e-mail my request to you. See? I've just contacted 50+ Rotarians, asked them for $25 or $50 or $100. To show you how effective it is, I'll guarantee most of my Rotary brothers and sisters will have a check for me on Friday. Those who don't will have one next Friday. I know the great men and women who make up our Rotary Club, so I can guarantee it. To start the ball rolling, I will give my own check for $1,000 for this very worthwhile Rotary project.
